Journey Overview

Africa Trek runs for three months at a time with Trekkies and Leaders learning and travelling together.

Participants will be involved in diverse ministry experiences such as Preaching, Teaching Sunday School, showing Jesus film, Community development involvement and any other practical ministry involvement prepared by the host country. This is a Discipleship short term mission exposure with a cross cultural set up. Participants take a set route within countries in Southern Africa.

The Trek is set on a sliding scale and the highest price is shown here.

Individuals applying must be 18 or over. This opportunity is aimed at participants aged 18-30.

As part of our Safeguarding policy, you may require a valid enhanced DBS certificate, which may cost an additional £15.

What To Expect

Spiritual formation – Will focus on participants spiritual growth through Bible Study, Individual quiet time and cooperate worship.

Ministry experience – exposure to ministry opportunities within the different communities of the country visited and a visit to major tourist sites.

Character formation – Through group interactions and culturally diverse exposure

Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be accommodation provided?

It will be shared accommodation for both single ladies and men separately

Will there be food provided?

Food will be prepared communally and the team will be eating together

Do I need to make my own travel arrangements?

All participants to fly to Gaborone where the Trek will start and those using buses to drop off at Gaborone main bus station.

There will be a debriefing in the last country of the Trek before participants leave for their respective countries.

What should my health condition be like?

All participants required to have been vaccinated from Covid-19 and Yellow Fever.

Participants with special health conditions or dietary needs should provide a medical report.

Do I need a visa?

Visa to enter Botswana and all other countries to be visited must be obtained prior to travel.

Depending on which country you are from, you may obtain a 90 days visa at port of entry.
