'If I die for His name, I die!'

After two believers were discouraged from sharing the gospel by the local church in fear of persecution, the men could not keep the good news to themselves.

After a few weeks of Disciple Maker training with OM, Santo* and Milan* were sent to a village to encourage and mobilise the local church.

Passionate about sharing the good news with those who had never heard about Jesus, the men desperately wanted to teach local believers what they had learnt through the training. However, frustration soon set in as the church leaders didn’t allow them to share widely or distribute any gospel books. The leaders were afraid of the government, which had restricted evangelical outreach, and so limited Santo and Milan to only serving church members.

Yet Santo and Milan felt strongly that they had to obey Jesus’ words to go and make disciples among the least reached. “This kind of persecution is not only today’s issue,” stated Santo, “but has been there since the beginning. The Apostle Paul was jailed for Jesus’ sake. If I go to jail for sharing Jesus, then so be it. If I die for His name, I die!”

The two men went out to meet people and shared about Jesus. Those they talked with were open and amazed because they had never heard about Jesus or the love of God. After a few months of outreach, 14 people came to believe in Jesus.

Encouraged by the fruit, Santo and Milan found another church with a heart for missions, and, together with this church, have helped several families to know Jesus.
