T.E.N.T stands for:

Training- training artists to use their skills to share the gospel in a contextual way.

Enriching- we will enrich the world around us by creating art together.

Navigating- we will spend time navigating scriptures together and growing in our faith.

Transforming- we will pursue OM's mission of creating vibrant communities of Jesus followers and transform our community. To train artists who are interested in ministry and how to apply that training in a Japanese context.

This option is tailored towards participants aged 20-65.

Price excludes flights, insurance & any possible vaccinations and is subject to change according to the exchange rate.

As part of our Safeguarding policy, you may require a valid enhanced DBS certificate, which may cost an additional £15.

What To Expect

In this 6 month training there will be 1-2 lessons a week. Each lesson will have creative assignments for both individual and group projects. Participants will be asked to take language classes while attending the training. Participants will also be asked to take part in local ministries such as communication workshops, Sendai Witness Arts Gathering, drama projects etc. The final project for the course will take place in our yearly Art Festival in September. Participants will help us plan and execute our festival along with our fellow Japanese Christian Artists.

Participants will be cooking for themselves or eating out.

Do I need to make my own travel arrangements?

You need to book our own airfare to Japan, within country you will use public transportation.

What should my health condition be like?

If you have allergies or some medical history (depression, food disorder etc.) please make sure to point that out to the sending field BEFORE arranging your trip. The conditions at the camp are poor and diseases can spread easily. Make sure you have the basic hygiene and medical supplies with you that you need.

Do I need a visa?

The program is for 6 months. Participants who can, will enter on tourist visas and then we will request extensions, if your country requires a visa for tourism please apply ahead of time.
