Journey Overview

Medical outreach, evangelistic outreach and kids activities. You will be working as part of a cross-cultural team in partnership with local medical personnel, church planters and children ministry workers. This outreach will involve organizing 2 days treatment of medical conditions, children's programs, and families in their homes, and possibly helping practically where needed. Medical outreach with evangelistic programme in Kombe villages among fishermen. The purpose of this outreach is to reach out to the local people in the remote villages along the shores of Lake Tanganyika. There are many physical, social and spiritual needs among the people living along the shores of Lake Tanganyika including access to quality medical care. This outreach will target Kombe village and surrounding villages regarding medical care as well as other spiritual needs of the fishermen, children, youth, and elderly in these villages.

What To Expect

Doctors and other medical personnel will attend to people’s physical needs, while non-medical team members will engage people with the gospel. Special activities with kids will also take place. The locations are chosen in the context of OM’s longer-term vision to see new groups of believers in this region. Local OM workers live in this region and will ensure follow-up. The economic situation of these villages is poor.

Age Range: 18-99

We need people willing to serve God with their hearts and ready to use their skills. It is welcome to have anyone with God’s compassion for physical and spiritual needs of the villages, ready to share their testimonies, approach people at their houses to share the Gospel, singers are welcome. Do you want to be challenged in your faith and experience God in a new way through cross-cultural ministry? Do you want to share the Gospel to the least reached, serve in a practical way and encourage local churches and believers? Come and join us!

Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be accommodation provided?

You will stay in Mpulungu OM Lake accommodations upon arrival and before departure. During outreach, you will stay either with local families or in church or school buildings in the villages or sleeping in a tent. Please note, it may not be possible for groups, families, or married couples to stay together within the different accommodations.

Will there be food provided?

Good Zambian local food is provided. Once in the village, most times you will have to prepare your own meals as a team. Please come ready to serve alongside a team. Please advise us if you have any dietary restrictions or needs.

Do I need to make my own travel arrangements?

Every participant is responsible for their transportation. It is not included on the price. Participants must arrange their own travel to and from Mpulungu, Zambia. Participants will be picked up by OM team members at the bus station

What should my health condition be like?

Participants must be in good health and physically able to stand, bend, lift, walk and do other physical activities as needed. Please, let us know if there is any health issue before coming.
