Journey Overview

You will be working as part of a cross-cultural team in partnership with local village churches and church plants. This outreach will involve organizing day camps for children, visiting elderly and families in their homes, and possibly helping practically where needed. Lighting the Lake is an Evangelistic Program at Lake Tanganyika, Zambia. The purpose of this outreach is to work together with the local churches in conjunction with OM Lake T in their ministries to the least reached by ministering to fishermen, children, youth, and elderly in villages. In this Program you will work along with one of our ministry teams and help reach more fishermen together with their families and lead them to Christ.

It is a great way to understand what God has been calling you to do and maybe where he is calling you to go. Through this cross-cultural experience, you will have the amazing opportunity to grow in your faith and relationship with God.

Below we have the ministries that you MAY be working with:

  • Church Planting in villages along Lake Tanganyika – Our church planting team has been discipling new believers and encouraging pastors in some villages. There are many teenagers and children in those villages.
  • SPECIAL NEEDS AND RELIEF in villages - That's a unique opportunity to show God's love for those children with disabilities and their families, specially knowing they have been neglected by society.
