Journey Overview

Join us for a unique mission adventure that you will always remember! During 2 weeks to 6 months you will live among Romas in a village: listing their stories, music, happiness and disappointments. Together with local believers you may be a witness to other Romas, preaching the Gospel, organizing children, youth, and adult evangelistic programmes. Living among in remote Roma/Gypsy village people groups in Romania with the goal to reach children, youth, and adults with the Gospel. Through this cross-cultural experience, you will have the amazing opportunity to grow in your faith and relationship with God and help the second largest minority people group in Romania: the Roma known also as Gypsies.

Please note that there will be an additional charge for transport with different amounts for persons and groups Price excludes flights, insurance & any possible vaccinations and is subject to change according to the exchange rate.

As part of our Safeguarding policy, you may require a valid enhanced DBS certificate, which may cost up to an additional £30.

What To Expect

You will embark for Bucharest (Romania) and travel to one of the OM-assisted ministries in Romania located in Paulesca. At all of the above locations, you will have the opportunity to work with children, youth, and teenagers, women's meetings, prayer meetings, practical work, and church services. People with special talents such as arts and crafts, drawing, etc., are very welcome.

If you are adventurous, flexible, and willing to be stretched physically and spiritually, if you want to be challenged in your faith and experience God in a new way through cross-cultural ministry, you have a passion to reach the lost by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, then this outreach is for you. We recommend considering flexibility and initiative in serving Roma people using your skills.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be accommodation provided?

During outreach, you will sleep at the mission center, Somebody Cares. Please note that it may be possible for groups to share the same accommodations.

Will there be food provided?

The Somebody Cares mission will provide you with breakfast and lunch, and you will be responsible for preparing your dinner, which is not included in the amount requested. Come ready to serve with the team and the locals, and let us know if you have any dietary needs.

Do I need to make my own travel arrangements?

Participants are responsible for organizing their travel to and from Bucharest, and someone from the local team will pick them up at the airport and drop them off at the train station or bus station for an additional fee of 150 euros.

What should my health condition be like?

Participants must be in good health and physically able to carry a backpack, stand, bend, lift, walk and do other physical activities as needed. Everything you take for this outreach must be carried on your back.

Do I need a visa?

You can only enter Romania with a Passport (or ID card if you are part of EU). Citizens from the EU, USA, Canada, Switzerland do not need a Visa. All others will need a Visa. If a Visa is needed and costs are involved, this is the participant's responsibility to pay the fees.
