Journey Overview

Training, mentoring and participation in VCJF ministry. VCJF = Vibrant Communities of Jesus Followers. Practical training in small group church planting principles to allow all people to be engaged in practical ways of fulfilling the great commission of ‘making disciples' among the nations and seeing the UK as a mission field.

This programme is designed to help the person who has a sense of calling to Disciple Making Ministry (in whatever situation) take the next steps by applying universal biblical principles of Disciple Making in ‘on the job training' in an apprenticeship type situation.
You can choose to join from 13th September 2025 for a minimum of 10 months up to 1 year.

The cost will be a minimum of £650 per month – this can be higher depending on the ministry location.

You will need clothing suitable for the whole year in the UK. Applicants must be 18+.

The cost will be a £50 deposit upon application and then a minimum of £650 per month depending on the ministry location and accommodation.

As part of our Safeguarding policy, you will be required to have a valid enhanced DBS certificate, which may cost up to an additional £30.

What To Expect

10 months – 1 year. It combines formal classroom training with trainee placements. Participants will be mentored by experienced practitioners, with a typical schedule of one week of classroom formation followed by three weeks of placement. This hands-on experience in VCJF ministry ensures trainees are both trained as well as see God use them to fulfil the training aims.

Participant Profile

Age Range: 18-99

Have a personal faith in Jesus Christ. Agree with the tenets of the Christian faith as articulated by OM or the partner agency you are applying through. Be able to communicate verbally in English with confidence. Have experience in sharing the gospel. Want to develop their evangelism and discipleship skills. Demonstrate a desire for cross-cultural mission. Have a working knowledge of Scripture. Have already completed a six-month, or longer, training course in discipleship, or other similar experience. Have a sense of calling to gospel, Disciple Making Ministry.

Do I need to make my own travel arrangements?

Arrive at our Training base in London by the weekend of 13-14 September 2025. Directions will be given upon acceptance.

This training programme requires you to have good health and mobility.

A visitor's visa is required if you do not hold a UK passport or indefinite leave to remain.
